Benguerra Island sits 14 kilometers off Mozambique's coast in the Bazaruto Archipelago, where powder-soft beaches meet turquoise waters that look almost fake. This second-largest island in the archipelago maintains an almost untouched quality—you'll find traditional fishing villages where dhows still dot the horizon alongside some of Africa's most exclusive eco-lodges. The interior reveals freshwater lakes, coastal dunes, and pockets of indigenous forest. The surrounding waters teem with marine life that makes this one of the Indian Ocean's premier diving and snorkeling destinations.

Dining centers around the luxury lodges. They serve sophisticated cuisine considering the remote location—think grilled prawns, fresh fish, and lobster that was swimming hours before it reaches your plate.
